CAMPUS LIFE

We believe that a wide range of extra-curricular activities, services and facilities should complement the academic component of students’ campus life in order to enhance the overall educational experience. These events provide students and faculty with exposure to a variety of social, cultural, intellectual, recreational opportunities and challenges. The Student’s Welfare Officer plans and executes the activities.

Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are executed through a number of associations, clubs, societies and student chapters of professional bodies. They are managed by representatives of the students, and are monitored by the faculty in-charge.

ACADEMICS

Our faculty members are highly qualified in a range of theoretical disciplines and deliver courses across a variety of subjects. Courses are aligned to the standards of Centurion University and are delivered with a strong emphasis on individual student learning. The classroom activities focus on lectures and interaction, making use of top-level educational technology and tools, to heighten learning. The curriculum is supplemented by guest lectures and student presentations. Students are trained to negotiate future challenges.

The lectures lay emphasis on the following:

(1) Knowledge content
(2) Utility value – the application of theoretical principles in real life
(3) Latest developments in theory and practice

CIT is in the process of developing a hybrid module combining requirements of GRE, GMAT, TOEFL and IELTS. Partnerships with SAP, CISCO, SUN, IIAW, CIPET and Central Tool Room, enable students to have an additional qualification to give them a competitive advantage in the job market.

Each academic year at CIT consists of two semesters. First semester begins in June and the second semester in December. The academic schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will be strictly followed.

LIBRARY

The CIT Library is a reader's paradise. It houses a collection of thousands of books of different branches with 12 journals, 30 magazines and 12 daily newspapers. The reading hall has the capacity to accommodate 200 readers at a time. The library remains open from 7am in the morning through to 9pm in the evening. Digital library facilities are also available. We subscribe to many electronic learning services, such as DELNET, IEEE Electronics Library and the Digital Electronics Library from AICTE (the core hub of large numbers of digitally formatted books, journals and magazines). We are on our way to make our library OPEN ACCESS.
STUDENT BEHAVIOUR

The students at CIT are expected to demonstrate high level of discipline, punctuality and honesty in their behaviour. At least 75% of attendance is compulsory to appear for the examination. The faculty members are empowered to curb any disturbance and ensure that time is used fruitfully. To this effect, students are expected to maintain decorum and refrain from causing any disturbance in the classroom. Cell phones with cameras are prohibited in the campus. Students are advised not to carry cell phones to the classrooms and laboratories.

WORKSHOPS

Well equipped engineering machines and tools in the workshop ...

Indian Institute of Welding (IIW), Kolkata will launch its Odisha Chapter in Bhubaneswar supported by the Centurion Group of Institutes(CGI), Bhubaneswar on the 20th of March 2009 at Hotel Swosti, Bhubaneswar.

The objective is to generate employability for school drop-outs especially in the vulnerable communities and areas through skill up-gradation and provision of vocational training. CGI has already carved a niche for itself in providing for modular employable skills training in partnership with the corporate sectors and institutional tie ups with vocational training institutes abroad. Vocational training centers will be developed in a franchisee mode all across Odisha and AP under brand name of Human Assets Development Institute (HADI). Dearth of properly qualified and skilled welders is a major problem for the Indian fabrication industry. Welders available lack formal training.
